Dedicated to an American Hero
I've entered a new season of my life, and have grown very content to be doing that in a beautiful city like Santa Barbara. There was a time in my life when the move to this smaller town was uncomfortable, but I've found my community here, which is what has made me feel most at home. I've become more aware of all the things my husband and I have to be thankful for, including the freedom to vocalize our opinions, walk in public without fear, and to pursue our dreams, and we recognize that that wouldn't be possible without the individuals who've served our country in the US Armed Forces. With multiple generations of veterans and former military in both my family and my husband's family, we recognize the undeniable sacrifice they've made to protect their family and the well-being of our country.
In light of what this long weekend is all about, I felt it was only necessary to dedicate this post to a friend of ours who faithfully served our country for over 21 years in the US Air Force. Ever since his retirement in January 2016, former Lt. Col. Christopher Quaid and his family have endured an arduous journey, battling for his life against Glioblastoma, a WHO Grade IV malignant brain cancer. I invite you to join me in showing gratitude for his service by donating to raise funds for the innovative medical care he needs. To find out more information about his story and where you can donate, click here to visit his GoFundMe page. They're only around $6K away from their goal of $21.2K! Every little bit helps, so don't hesitate to donate if you don't have much to give.
Thank you so much for reading and showing your support. I hope you guys have had an beautiful and safe Memorial Day Weekend. Cheers to a short week.
